How long does the Class A Barber Program take?

Your graduation timeline depends on your attendance.

  • 6 Months – Full-Time (up to 46 hours per week)

  • 9 Months – Standard Schedule

How many hours are required?

The Texas Class A Barber Program requires 1,000 training hours.

Tre's Barber Institute combines online theory through Milady CIMA with hands-on practical training to help students complete their education efficiently while meeting all TDLR requirements.

What are your school hours?

Tre's Barber Institute is open:

  • Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Thursday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Students create a schedule that works around their employment, family responsibilities, and personal commitments.

Can I work while attending barber school?

Yes.

Many of our students work full-time or part-time while attending school. Our flexible scheduling allows students to balance work, family, and education.

How old do I have to be?

Students may enroll at 16 years old.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old before applying for a Texas Class A Barber License through TDLR.

Do I need a high school diploma or GED?

Admission requirements may vary based on current state regulations. Our admissions team will review the current TDLR requirements with you during your enrollment appointment.

Do I need a Social Security Number?

A Social Security Number is not required to enroll at Tre's Barber Institute.

However, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) establishes the requirements for state licensure. Students who do not have a Social Security Number should speak with our admissions team to review the current licensing documentation requirements before enrollment.

How much does tuition cost?

The standard tuition for the Class A Barber Program is $8,000.
